Head rotation and illusory force sensation by lateral skin stretch on the face

چکیده

Various methods for inducing an illusory force sensation to present a sense of users in energy-saving and space-saving systems have been proposed. One them is the illusion induced by cutaneous sensory stimulation. In this study, we hypothesized empirically verified that lateral skin stretch alone on face can induce direction stretch. We focused anterior temporal cheekbone regions, which cushion part head-mounted display contacts skin, applied stretches different intensities these envisioning presentation device built into display. Head rotations approximately 40 50 degrees were generated respectively, confirming rotation. confirmed positive correlation between head-turning angle amount deformation. The intensity be controlled changing deformation; may development new device.

EF FECTS OF THE VALSALVA MANEUVER AND HEAD ROTATION ON INTERNAL JUGULAR VEIN DIAMETER AND LOCATION BY ULTRASONOGRAPHY

In order to determine the effect of Valsalva maneuver and head rotation on the internal jugular vein (IJV) diameter and cross-sectional area and overlap with the carotid artery (CA) and find the best technique for safe cannulation of the IJV and decrease the risk of CA puncture, the diameter of both the IJV and the CA and percentage of overlap between the two vessels and cross-sectional are...

Illusory Sensation of Movement Induced by Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation

Human movement sense relies on both somatosensory feedback and on knowledge of the motor commands used to produce the movement. We have induced a movement illusion using repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation over primary motor cortex and dorsal premotor cortex in the absence of limb movement and its associated somatosensory feedback. Afferent and efferent neural signalling was abolished ...

Expression of 2DOF Fingertip Traction with 1DOF Lateral Skin Stretch

To reproduce the sensation of rubbing on a surface, we need to laterally stretch the skin of the fingertip with two degrees of freedom (2DOF). Unfortunately, it is difficult to develop a compact 2DOF device for the fingertip because at least two actuators are required. However, if we can perceive the rubbing sensation regardless of the skin stretching direction, a device with 1DOF is sufficient...

Tactile Display Device Using Distributed Lateral Skin Stretch

In the past, tactile displays were of one of two kinds: they were either shape displays, or relied on distributed vibrotactile stimulation. A tactile display device is described in this paper which is distinguished by the fact that it relies exclusively on lateral skin stretch stimulation. It is constructed from an array of 64 closely packed piezoelectric actuators connected to a membrane. The ...
